The Grain Ship - Zora

Sailing on the "Zora" boat offers a unique opportunity to step into the past. This faithfully reconstructed wooden boat takes us back to the 18th century, when the Kupa and Sava rivers were the main trade routes for transporting grain. At that time, Karlovac was connected to all of Croatia, Timișoara, and the mighty Danube. The "Zora" boat is a typical example of the "tumba," one of the three types of boats used by the Karlovac boatmen guild – the wealthiest guild of the artisan town of Karlovac during the Illyrian Revival period.
