Skiing

The Vučići Ski Resort is located just 1.5 km from the center of Ogulin, in Vučić Selo, and was built entirely through the volunteer work of members of the Ogulin Ski Club, which also manages and maintains this small ski area.

Local residents skied at this location as early as the mid-20th century, but over time, vegetation overtook the slope due to a lack of maintenance. In 2011, dedicated club members began clearing the first 200 meters of ski slope and 100 meters of sledding track. Later, the slope was expanded by an additional 250 meters.

Today, the Vučići Ski Resort features a 450-meter ski slope with two ski lifts, a 100-meter sledding area, full lighting for night skiing, auxiliary facilities for visitor refreshments, a clubroom, its own equipment for slope maintenance, and a snowmaking system with artificial snow cannons.

One unique feature of this ski resort is that entrance is free, relying instead on donations from satisfied visitors. Over the years, numerous sponsors, along with the city of Ogulin, have helped make this ski resort well-known beyond national borders, for which the members of the Ogulin Ski Club are immensely grateful.

During the winter months, Vučići Ski Resort becomes a gathering place for many residents of Ogulin and their guests from all over Croatia. The resort hosts various events, including ski schools for all ages, giant slalom and slalom races, sledding competitions, and GSS (Mountain Rescue Service) races.
