Rafting

Unforgettable experiences of rafting, kayaking, and canoeing await on the beautiful rivers of Karlovac County, with over 200 kilometers of waterways perfect for exciting and simultaneously relaxing adventures. Why enjoy the river only from the shore when you can navigate its rapids and waterfalls? Why limit yourself to the roads when you can reach magical corners by boat? The Kupa, Korana, Mrežnica, and Dobra rivers offer all of this, just like few other rivers in Croatia.

The Dobra is the longest sinking river in Croatia, which sinks in Ogulin and resurfaces near the village of Gojak, where it combines with the waters of the Zagorska Mrežnica to create the most thrilling rafting section in Croatia. The descent to the bridge in Trošmarija is a challenge for all wild water enthusiasts. The highlight of modern rafting adventures on inflatable boats is the descent down the largest waterfall, Buk, which should be experienced exclusively under the expert guidance of a skipper.

You will also feel the magnificent beauty and power of the river, and the excitement of wild waters, on the Korana, from the mill-dotted Rastoke near Slunj to Veljun. In early spring and autumn, the rapids and waterfalls, rich in water, offer the best invitation for rafting lovers. The waters of the Korana flow downstream from Veljun to Karlovac through a picturesque valley, attracting those who prefer calmer waters.

The Mrežnica, on its path through rocky gorges and flower-filled meadows, entices canoeists with its blue-green hues, tufa waterfalls, small islands, meanders, traces of human work and tradition, from old watermills to the longest wooden bridge in Croatia (208 meters) near the "Slapić" campsite in Belavići.

The Kupa, the longest river in Karlovac, is perfect for multi-day descents, with camping along its shores. While in the Gorski Kotar region, it is a fast and cold beauty with steep banks, downstream from Ozalj it widens into a gentler lowland river. Apart from the rivers, you can also enjoy a relaxing canoe or kayak ride on Lake Sabljaci near Ogulin. During the summer, swimming is an integral part of these trips, often near frothy waterfalls. After an exciting paddling adventure on the riverbanks and the "Ogulin Sea," you'll enjoy resting and savoring delicious meals, with the soothing sound of water and a view of the picturesque landscapes.

Adventure Awaits

With untouched hiking paths and pristine rivers, Karlovac County provides the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Dive into a world of adrenaline-filled challenges and natural beauty for unforgettable memories on your Karlovac County vacation.
