Karlovac County offers plenty of opportunities for your active vacation on a bicycle. If you wish to explore its beauty and landmarks while cycling, you have almost 700 kilometers of cycling paths available. By turning the pedals, you can enjoy discovering all corners of the county, from the lowland Pokuplje, the valleys of the four rivers of Karlovac, to the hilly karst plateau of Kordun, and the mountainous regions of the Žumberak Mountains, Petrova Gora, and Gorski Kotar.

Every cyclist, from occasional riders to sports enthusiasts, will find a trail suitable for their physical condition and cycling capabilities; cycling routes range from about 30 kilometers to over a hundred kilometers, with elevation differences from just 25 to 580 meters at the highest and lowest points. The routes primarily follow less trafficked local roads, passing through beautiful landscapes and touching upon valuable cultural and historical heritage.

Each route offers a unique experience; some follow the picturesque valleys of the Kupa, Korana, Mrežnica, or Dobra rivers, others along the shores of Lake Sabljaci or the Draganić fish ponds, while some ascend the wooded slopes and meadow clearings of Kapele and Kleka, Sveta Gera, and Lovića Prekriški, Vinica, and Pyramid near Draganić. Some trails pass through protected areas of Plitvice Lakes National Park and Žumberak – Samoborsko Gorje Nature Park.

Along with pleasant rides, you can visit the Renaissance historical core of Karlovac, the medieval fortresses of Dubovac, Novigrad na Dobri, Ozalj, Bosiljevo, Tounj, Modruš, Ogulin, Slunj, Drežnik, and Cetingrad, as well as numerous manors, churches, and chapels. You will also cycle over ancient stone bridges on the Dobra, Mrežnica, and Tounjica rivers, as well as near the restored mills of Rastoke at the waterfalls of Slunjčica.
