Ogulin area is fictitious landscape, with crowned valley of Dobra with mountain giant – Klek and Ogulin himself has grown on crags full of caves. Thin boarder between real life and fantasy separates Frankopan castle from 16th century ad city life from mysterious halls of Julia abysm.
Ogulin and his area have not left indifferent even Ivana Brlic Mazuranic, the most translated Croatian writer for children, born in Ogulin. She was inspired to write „Stories from ancient time“ which have helped to create a fable route: 12 interpretation boards, shapes as characters from her stories testify about Ogulin magic.
Fable route combines nature beauty and fables, filled with wisdom of folk legends. Fable route is networked with educational botanic path Klek through which we learn about plant communities and endemic species on Klek.
Ogulin – native land of fable gets it peek on Ogulin festival of fables. This unique festival in Croatia welcomes artists and art associations of different categories, encouraging Ogulin art creation.
