Just a few kilometres from the world-renowned Plitvice Lakes national park, near its northern entrance, you’ll find Rakovica municipality and its Plitvice Valleys. The Underground World
Some 6 km from Rakovica, the Barać caves are a natural phenomenon formed during millions of years. This unusual world of halls, corridors and canals will thrill both the young and the old. The caves are full of flowstones and limestone columns up to 10 m high. Visit before the winter break and take a walk (around one hour) inside the caves with a licensed guide.

The world-renowned Plitvice Lakes national park is open all year round, and its most attractive part are undoubtedly the turquoise lakes and numerous waterfalls, cascades and brooks. The ticket prices vary depending on the season, and include the scenic boat and ‘train’ rides.
Rich History
The Drežnik Castle is a fort on the outskirts of Drežnik Grad. It was first mentioned in the 12th century, and has since been conquered, destroyed and renovated many, many times. Today, its remains are a part of Croatia’s cultural heritage. If you climb to the top of its tower, you’ll get a beautiful view of the Korana river and its surroundings.
Various Open-Air Activities
All those looking for some exciting experiences can visit the two adrenaline parks, offering, among other things, paintball, tomahawk throwing, and a zip-line that is 300 m long. Exploring the valley and its preserved nature is possible both by bike or on horseback. Both the young and the old will be interested in the Deer Valley Ranch. Vacationing in the idyllic Plitvice Valleys can be full of various activities, and if you visit the local produce growers and taste their fare, all your senses are going to enjoy this adventure, too.
A Combination of Tradition and Nature
Not far from the Plitvice Valleys you’ll come across Slunj, and there you should visit Rastoke, the milling settlement with 17th century architecture. Enjoy the walk along the Slunjčica banks, with its unique tufa barriers, and with the brown trout and grayling in its waters. A legendary Winnetou film was shot in Rastoke, and there’s still a totem pole in the settlement from that time, attracting curious visitors.

Špilje su prepune sigastih struktura i do desetak metara visokih stupova. Požurite u Baraćeve špilje prije zimske stanke i zaputite se u šetnju sa stručnim vodičem koja traje oko sat vremena.
Najstariji i najveći nacionalni park u Hrvatskoj
Svjetski poznati Nacionalni park Plitvička jezera otvoren je tijekom cijele godine, a najatraktivniji dio parka svakako su modrozelena jezera te brojni slapovi i rječice. Cijena ulaznice se razlikuje ovisno o godišnjem dobu, a uključuje vožnju panoramskim vozilom i brodom.
Bogata povijest
Stari grad Drežnik je utvrda koja se nalazi na rubu naselja Drežnik Grad. Ova utvrda spominje se već u 12. stoljeću, a kroz sva ta stoljeća bila je više puta poražena, srušena i obnavljana. Današnji ostaci utvrde su proglašeni spomenikom kulture. Ako se popnete na vrh kule, možete uživati u prekrasnom pogledu na krajolik rijeke Korane.

U blizini Plitvičkih dolina nalazi se i Slunj, a zaputite li se tamo, posjetite i vodeničarsko naselje Rastoke i autentičnu arhitekturu koja datira još iz 17. stoljeća. Uživajte u šetnji uz rijeku Slunjčicu koja je jedinstveni primjer sedrenih barijera i čije dubine skrivaju potočne pastrve i lipljane. Rastoke su bile i mjesto snimanja legendarnog filma Winnetou, nakon kojeg je ostavljen totem koji posjetitelji danas rado istražuju.
